The style is typical Italian 16th century, probably Roman or Paduan school, given the facial features soft and expressive, clothing representation and landscape plants.
The attitude of Joseph of Arimathea is reminiscent of a man with his hands clasped looking at the sky, on the reverse of Cellini's Clement VII medal.
